FEARS: Being sent back to Hell
SECRETS: If I told you that, it wouldn’t be a secret, now would it?
PERSONALITY:
Ruby is a complex demon. She is typical when it comes to being a demon, looking out for herself, not really giving a shit about the others, but is not typical when it comes to hunters. She remembers what it was like to be human, but that’s not to say that she really cares about them. She does have a soft spot for Sam, and possibly one for Dean, but she would never out right say that to either. Ruby is a mystery. She loves to fight and is skilled in martial arts, and would rather kick some ass than use her powers or her knife.
"Carry on my wayward son, they'll be peace when you are done."

OVERALL HISTORY:
A long time ago, specifically around the plague in 1350, Ruby was a Witch who sold her soul to Tammi and was reborn a demon after being profusely abused and tortured in Hell. She owns a knife that can destroy demons. Following soon after Azazel's death, she proves instrumental in releasing Lucifer from his Cage by manipulating Sam Winchester.
She initially presents herself as an ally to the Winchesters, helping them fight demons and witches, fixing the Colt and particularly by intimating to Sam that she can help break the deal Dean made with the Crossroads Demon with his life. She later reveals to Dean that she can't save him, but claims to want to help prepare Sam to fight the demons after Dean is dead, claiming she remembers what it is to be human and wants to fight on the side humanity. As Dean's deal is due and they try to kill Lilith, she sends Ruby back to Hell.
While Dean is in Hell, Ruby returns to Sam. Distraught with grief, he refuses to speak to her while she is possessing someone. She finds a woman in a hospital and possesses her as she is declared dead. At Sam's lowest point she seduces him.
Ruby convinces Sam that she can help him develop his powers so he can kill Lilith and avenge Dean's death. She get's him to practice with his powers, and also gets him drinking her blood in order to enhance his powers.
After Dean's return, Sam keeps his relationship with Ruby a secret - continuing to drink her blood and develop his powers so he can kill Lilith, who is breaking The 66 Seals that are keeping Lucifer captive. Driven by a desire to prove himself capable to both Dean and himself, Sam fails to realize Ruby is using him, and rejects Dean's advice not to trust her.
When Sam finally kills Lilith, Ruby reveals that Lilith's death is the final seal, the one which will free Lucifer. She taunts him that it was not the demon's blood that has driven him down this path, but his own decisions. As Lucifer rises, Dean arrives, and kill's Ruby with her own knife.

Unfortunately for Dean, Ruby had planned for this to happen. Not only had she been working for Lucifer, but she had learned of a plan by Crowley to eventually overthrow Lucifer. Secretly, she had been meeting with Crowley as well. Crowley had taken a liking to Ruby’s style and figured that she would be a good disposable weapon in the future. So he arranged for a knife to be made that looked exactly like her knife, but would not kill her. So when Dean stabbed Ruby, it only sent her back to Crowley.
Now three years later, with Crowley’s power growing, he decided to unleash Ruby, providing a distraction to the boys, while he continues with his plan to rule.

In a far corner of hell that very few demons knew about, two demons could be seen sitting in a dark room. The two figures could be seen conversing about a heated topic. The shiny long blonde hair on the one stood out indicating that this demon, Ruby, was up to no good again. Ruby was fairly new to hell but made friends quickly with some very high demons. She knew the importance of rank in hell, so if she didn't establish her own from the start, she would be pissed upon just like many of the others she knew. She was in the process of gaining the trust from Lilith, and knew by doing this would be put to the test, but would quickly move up the rankings once finished. She hated being a bitch to someone, especially Lilith, she was always so demanding and has to have things done exactly the way she wants them done. Ruby was use to doing things her way and whatever she wanted to do, but for now, would abide by Lilith until the right moment came along.
"I have to go now...the bitch keeps calling for me...we'll discuss this later..." Ruby said hastly as she quickly vanished from one corner of hell and appeared in another. She was now standing directly in front of Lilith. "You rang?"

The heat. The sounds. The smell of decaying and burning flesh. It was unlike anything Sophie could have imagined. It seemed like just yesterday she was enjoying a nice picnic in the park with her mom, dad, and little brother. Playing Frisbee, going swimming, laying on the blanket, and pointing out the different shapes the clouds made. Wait, that was just yesterday. Everything was beginning to make sense. The car crash, her mom and brother dead, the figure dragging her dad off into the woods and disappearing, and her, Sophie chasing after her dad only to be hit over the head knocking her out. So wait, Sophie thought to herself, does this mean I’m dead? Is this…Heaven? I was told by my pastor that when I die I will go to Heaven. It can’t be Heaven though; there is too much pain here. Sophie began to cry as things became clear.
Her body was strapped down, not allowing her to even move an inch. She tried to scream, but the mask she had on made it come out as mumbles. Not only did mask contain her sound, it made it difficult to breath, she could feel the lack of oxygen begin to take over her body. In desperation she continued to try and squirm as the metal chains dug into her skin. She knew she wasn’t going to be able to get out, but yet she tried. Her face was covered in her tears, both, from fright and pain.
Sophie was unable to see anyone else, but she knew by the screams that there were hundreds of others bound like her. She continued to fidget underneath the chains when the curtain opened and a man walked through. He removed the mask and immediately Sophie began to breathe in as much air as she could. It smelled and tasted horrible, but she didn’t care, it was air. She continued to cry as he introduced himself as Alastair, and wanted her to call him her broker or savior. She looked away from him; he scared her greatly, when she noticed the needles, scalpels, knives, and pliers. She quickly looked back to him with innocent, big, scared eyes, just in time to see the big needle go into her neck.
He pushed the liquid inside, as he asked her why she thought she was in Hell. Sophie let out the most intense scream she could as she felt the poison go through her body. It began to creep down her extremities, slowly warming her insides, then exploding into pain she had never felt before. Sophie closed her eyes and cried. She shook her head from side to side, and managed to yell out, “No, I don’t know why.” The pain continued to work its way through her body. Between sniffles and gasps of air she asked, “Am I here because I didn’t finish all my vegetables last night at dinner and fed them to the dog?” Sophie continued to cry. She really didn’t understand why she was there. Unless, it had something to do with her dad being drug off and the car crash, but Sophie didn’t care anymore. She was in such great pain all she wanted to do was sleep.
